Senior IT Contract Specialist

Company: Our Client

Location: Remote (work from home)

Engagement Period: May 2025 (upon hire) to March 31, 2026

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (excluding stat holidays and mandatory time-off days as specified by client). Core business hours are between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (Central Time).

Our client is looking for a Senior IT Contract Specialists to assist with the assessment of existing and new IT contracts, provide recommendations as appropriate, and participate in monitoring performance of contracts and statements of work to ensure compliance. These engagements will be effective May 2025 (upon hire) to March 31, 2026.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of Information Technology industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in Contract Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience preparing RFX documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance during the development of procurement artefacts for technology goods and services.
  • Conduct quality reviews of procurement artefacts for technology goods and services.
  • Work closely with IT stakeholders to assist in the development of procurement artefacts for technology goods and services.
  • Provide contract negotiation consultation to IT contract managers.
  • Conduct reviews and assessments of existing IT contracts (goods & services) and provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Consult, analyze, and evaluate existing IT contracts, and document contractual requirements for new contracts and renewals.
  • Identify contract lifecycle, including schedule, renewal, and expirations.
  • Develop and track contract (procurement) status.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with stakeholders.
  • Interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain, monitor, and record information in the database/repository utilized for IT contracts.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Be a flexible, resourceful, and creative problem solver.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a recognized degree or diploma in an IT-related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of Information Technology industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience developing and managing technology contracts (goods and services).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience writing procurement and contract artefacts for technology goods and services.
  • Supply Chain certification, such as APICS/SCMP, considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of IT categories, including software, hardware, Cloud services, and IT consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle and category management principles.
  • Understanding of software licensing, Contract Law, Cloud contracts, and IT service level agreements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex contract requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience managing technology contracts in a Public Sector organization is an asset.
  • Must have a Windows-based computer with standard Windows applications.
  • Must possess own communication device.
  • Must have an active Visio license for all software products required to perform the above responsibilities.
