Well established valve manufacturer is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for a day shift opportunity on a direct hire basis. Opportunity will be working in a climate controlled shop machining on various valve bodies, components, and parts. Ideal candidate will be able to perform their own setups, take offs, edits, and offsets. Experience operating Mazak lathes with Mazatrol controls is highly desired, any experience with Mazak Integrex is a huge plus. Must be well versed in G-code. 

 
 Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate Mazak CNC Lathes using fixture/s and proper tooling to produce quality parts efficiently for maximum output.
  • Read and understanding Drawings and technical documents, such as quality control plans, specifications and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Be able to accurately machine parts to tolerances of +/- .005 with occasional requirements to +/-.001
  • Measure and record part dimensions using common gauges and measuring tools.
  • Load and Edit part programs as required
  • Dry-run or safety run part programs to verify locations and tool touch-offs are entered correctly, without causing scrap during set-ups
  • Verify initial 1st part dimensions prior to releasing to operator for production.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills and perform corrective measures to prevent tooling and or machine malfunctions.
  • Practicing company safety and quality requirements at all times
  • Machine start-up and shut down procedures, warm up cycles, homing sequence, and daily maintenance required to keep equipment in good condition.
  • Correctly loading and unloading of various parts produced in CNC machines
  • Perform all secondary operations, part deburring, and part handling methods.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating all actions, irregularities, and continuing needs during the machining process
  • Practice good housekeeping practices to keep work areas safe and organized.
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must have at least 4 years verifiable experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes & Mills
  • Ability to read and edit G-code program - Mazatrol a plus
  • Proficient in machining carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and other alloys. 
  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering and/or shop drawings. 
  • Demonstrate excellent shop math skills
  • Capable of lifting 20lbs consistently
  • Dependable transportation
  • Pass a general math test
  • Pass vision acuity exams
 
Additional Information:
  • Shift hours are 7am - 4pm, M-F
  • Overtime as needed, and occasional weekends as required
