Well established industrial pump manufacturer is seeking a Welder for it's Shreveport facility. This position would be on a day shift in a climate controlled shop, and would primarily perform TIG Welding with some Stick welding on pump casings, skids, brackets, etc.
Responsibilities of the Welder include, but are not limited to:
- TIG, Stick, and MIG welding
- Pipe, steel, and stainless steel welding
- Highly experienced in gouging or lancing to remove porosity
- Pipe fitting as needed or required
- Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job
- Plans details of working procedure, tools and material requirements
- Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals
- Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment
- Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded
- Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts
- Builds up worn or defective surfaces
- Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly
Qualifications of the Welder include, but are not limited to:
- 5+ years of TIG welding experience
- Familiar with carbon steel, stainless steel, iron, aluminum, alloys, plasma cutter, pipe threading, and grinders
- Background check, physical, and drug test required
Additional Information:
Physical Demand: Must lift up to 50lbs.
Working Conditions: Climate controlled shop, some outside work as requiredTraining/Certifications: N/AShift Time/Overtime: 40 hour work week. Overtime as needed.
Travel: N/AEducation: High School Diploma or GED required
