Senior Commercial Account Manager – Hybrid (Salt Lake City area)

Position: Senior Commercial Account Manager
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid: remote + occasional office/onsite as required)

 Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Commercial Account Manager to own service and renewal management for a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts. You will be the primary day-to-day contact for clients, handling policy servicing, renewals, endorsements, and ensuring a superior client experience — working closely with producers and underwriters to place and maintain coverage.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop renewal and new-business strategies in coordination with Producer(s)

  • Gather underwriting information directly from clients and analyze exposures

  • Advise clients regarding coverage changes, additions, exclusions, and risk mitigation

  • Prepare insurance proposals, summaries, quotes, coverage schedules, and documentation

  • Interface with underwriters: negotiate terms, secure quotes, bind coverage, and confirm binder accuracy

  • Issue Certificates of Insurance, Auto ID cards, endorsements, and other policy documentation

  • Process and manage endorsements, cancellations, renewals, and endorsements timely and accurately

  • Maintain and update all electronic client/policy files; ensure data integrity

  • Serve as primary “inside” technical service support — respond to client inquiries, coordinate claims reporting and billing follow-up when needed

  • Collaborate with internal teams (producers, underwriters, support staff) to meet agency goals and service levels

  • Identify cross-sell/upsell and risk-management opportunities to support client needs and agency growth

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial-lines account management with complex accounts or a similar role managing commercial insurance portfolios.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent customer service orientation

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and ability to manage multiple tasks/accounts simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning agency management systems / carrier 

  • Deep knowledge of commercial insurance coverages (property, general liability, umbrella, professional liability, etc.), underwriting guidelines, risk exposures, rating and quoting processes. 

  • Ability to negotiate with carriers and underwriters, analyze coverage/options, and present professional recommendations.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills — able to build and maintain client relationships, work collaboratively with producers/teams.
