Business Development Manager - New York

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our New York office! This role is based in New York City but involves nationwide responsibilities, requiring select travel and remote coordination with our offices across the country. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's growth by identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and enhancing our market presence.

What You'll Do:

Business Development Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve the firm’s growth objectives.
  • Identify and analyze potential markets, clients, and services to expand the firm’s client base, with a particular focus on the NY/NJ markets.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with attorneys.
  • Conduct client needs assessments and tailor the firm’s services to meet those needs.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market analysis.

Proposal and Presentation Development:

  • Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials to attract and secure new business.
  • Collaborate with partners and practice groups to create compelling client pitches.

Networking and Outreach:

  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events.
  • Establish and maintain a robust network of industry contacts and referral sources.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with partners, practice groups, and marketing teams to align business development efforts with the firm’s strategic goals.
  • Facilitate internal communication and coordination to ensure seamless client service delivery.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on business development activities, outcomes, and ROI.
  • Adjust strategies based on performance metrics and feedback.

What You'll Bring:

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, or a related field.
  • MBA or Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of the legal industry and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in market research, data analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000-$145,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
