K. Jacobs is seeking a mid‑ to senior‑level Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer to join a well‑respected, multi‑disciplinary engineering consulting firm. In this client‑facing role, you will lead the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects from concept through construction.
What you will do:
- Lead engineering design and oversee production of plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Engage directly with clients in meetings and design reviews, translating client/architect expectations into engineered solutions.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA and applicable codes; prepare QA/QC deliverables and respond to RFIs during construction.
- Provide technical leadership to design teams and mentor junior staff.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 7–12+ years of experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; ability to obtain required.
- Proven track record in client facing project leadership.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and industry standards.
