The Opportunity: Lead Multi-Hospital Strategic Operations

Are you a proven leader in Sterile Processing (SPD) ready to take on a strategic, multi-facility role with one of California's most awarded health systems?

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager of Sterile Processing to provide strategic and operational oversight for the Sterile Processing Departments across two flagship medical centers in the vibrant South Bay area of Los Angeles County. This role is not just about managing a department; it’s about driving the future of surgical safety and efficiency across two high-acuity, Magnet-recognized facilities.

Why Join Our Organization?

  • Magnet Excellence: You will lead the SPD for one of only 1% of U.S. hospitals to achieve Magnet® recognition four times, signifying the highest standard of nursing excellence and patient care.

  • Executive Partnership: This role involves working directly with the Executive Director of Perioperative Services to define and execute the strategic plan for all reprocessing services. You will be a key voice in surgical planning and capital equipment decisions.

  • Commitment to the Team: We offer a best-in-class benefits package, a culture built on mutual respect, and a dedication to shaping an inclusive workforce where every caregiver feels valued, heard, and essential.

Your Impact and Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Manager, you will be the definitive authority for all sterile processing operations, quality, and compliance across both our Torrance and San Pedro campuses.

Strategic Leadership and Operations

  • Multi-Site Oversight: Direct, unify, and standardize all SPD operations across both medical centers, ensuring seamless service and high-quality instrument turnover to support busy Operating Rooms, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and Interventional Suites.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute a long-term strategic plan for Sterile Processing, focusing on technology adoption, process automation, and facility modernization.

  • Budget & Fiscal Management: Take full ownership of the departmental operating and capital budgets. Apply your analytical skills to manage expenses, optimize resource allocation, and drive cost-saving efficiencies while maintaining premium quality.

  • Quality & Compliance: Serve as the subject matter expert and compliance officer, ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory standards (AAMI, AORN, TJC, CMS, etc.) and leading continuous performance improvement initiatives.

People and Culture Development

  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and empower a high-performing SPD leadership team and staff. Implement robust training, competency validation, and career development pathways.
  • Collaboration: Build strong, trust-based relationships with physicians, surgeons, OR nurses, and materials management to enhance communication, resolve issues proactively, and foster a collaborative Perioperative environment.
