Full Time Employee opening for a senior level JDE Engineer to join a growing organization optimizing its Business and IT. This role will work as part of a team, and will take part in planning, design and execution of the JDE environment.Someone with a senior level JDE technical knowledge, who can also help be a mentor to new hires and less experienced team members is ideal.
Primary duties:
· Work with business analysts and users to interpret requirements for system enhancements / projects
· Assess process / technical options to define and recommend approach to meet requirements based on standards and best practices
· Estimate effort required to complete requested enhancements or fix issues
· Design, develop, code, and test new JDE solutions including custom reports, applications, tables, business views, data structures and business functions
· Ensure testing scenarios are comprehensive and cover process / data variables
· Work with business analysts and users to resolve any issues identified during testing process
· Gain sufficient knowledge of connected systems to manage JDE interfaces
· Provide maintenance and support for existing customized applications and integrations
· Work with users to understand, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair technical problems including system errors, functional issues, performance degradation, integration failures, etc.
· Document changes and any necessary custom code to implement system modifications
· Create / provide training to users covering significant system changes
· Utilize prioritized enhancement queue and IT Help Desk ticket system to manage projects and issues
· Update tickets with thorough notes and timely communication
· Effectively manage assigned projects based on relative priority, available resources and business deadlines
· Communicate status, progress and obstacles related to completion of assigned efforts.
· Work with vendors and development/support partners to complete assigned initiatives
· Attend relevant meetings to coordinate and prioritize efforts within team and across partners
Qualifications
This position requires a solid mix of senior JD Edwards development experience, requirements gathering, along with creativity and communication abilities to support and enhance JDE environment. Relationship building and customer service skills are essential. You will work on several assigned and prioritized tasks to serve customers effectively.
Experience with the following technologies/skills is required:
· Senior level competency, JD Edwards development experience including 9.1
- 9.2 experience beneficial
- Past upgrade experience beneficial
· Ability to mentor and train less experienced members of JDE support / development team
- Experience with JDE training / curriculum preferred
· Deep experience with Sales and Distribution aspects of JDE with understanding of related business functions
· Strong knowledge of JDE files / database(Oracle) / tables / views
· Willingness to cross-train and support all necessary JD Edwards applications
· Ability to work independently with minimal direction, as well as in collaboration with team members
· Experience with JDE customization and 3rd party integration
- EDI integration preferred
· Ability to identify system issues, determine root causes, and provide temporary workarounds and/or permanent fixes.
· Experience working closely with business to gather and document requirements regarding application technology issues and improvements
· System design experience with knowledge of software standards and best practices
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
