Seeking an experienced leader to direct global trade compliance strategy across all business units. This role ensures adherence to import/export regulations, manages denied party/sanction screening, develops compliance policies, and partners cross-functionally to align trade compliance with organizational goals while mitigating risk in a complex regulatory environment.
Responsibilities:
· Lead global trade compliance function, setting objectives, improving processes, and aligning regional teams.
· Provide expert guidance on international trade regulations, sanctions, and risk management.
· Ensure accuracy and consistency in tariff and export control classifications, valuations, and Free Trade Agreement activities.
· Oversee audits, investigations, corrective actions, and government reporting.
· Serve as delegated authority for registrations, licenses, and regulatory filings (e.g., ITAR, EAR).
· Manage third-party brokers, consultants, and compliance software providers.
· Build strong relationships with government agencies and external counsel.
· Develop and deliver global trade compliance training programs.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in international business, law, supply chain, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
· 8–10+ years of global trade compliance or related regulatory experience, including leadership.
· Expertise in HTS classification, export controls, Incoterms, customs compliance, and sanctions.
· In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international trade regulations (EAR, ITAR, FTR, etc.).
· Proven success managing global teams, compliance programs, and regulatory audits.
· Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
· U.S. Person under ITAR; ERP and trade compliance software experience (SAP preferred).
· Multilingual skills a plus.
