Our client in the linen and uniform service industry is currently seeking a Sales and Service Rep to support their expanding New York City market

Territory: Manhattan, NYC (Candidates may also reside in Essex, Hudson, Bergen, Passaic, or Union counties in NJ)

Position Summary:We are looking for a strong Sales/Service Representative who has an excellent track record of building relationships, problem solving, and growing a book of business (upselling, and new accounts). Your hands-on approach will include regular in-person meetings with your clients, mostly restaurant owners/managers. You'll perform inventories, work to resolve any service issues, upsell additional services, as well as solicit new business. Reports to: Territory Service Manager

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Form and build customer relationships with some of the client's largest accounts (mostly restaurants).
  • Work to satisfy and retain all current customers. Address and resolve customer issues in a timely manner. Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Schedule on site customer “loyalty visits” to monitor customer service and generate sales.
  • Schedule regular inventories to manage inventory control and make adjustments as needed such as special deliveries.
  • Understand customer contracts and proactively work on obtaining all renewals prior to the contract end date with the Territory Service Manager. Complete at least two contract renewals per week. 
  • Utilize CRM system (Salesforce) to generate new leads and log all customer visitations.
  • Upsell add-on business. Grow existing customer base by upselling and cross-selling additional products and services.
  • Prospect for potential new accounts by cold calling, building a relationship, and proposing service.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, etc.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of account management experience in the textile, linen, or uniform service industry experience is required.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency with ability to troubleshoot and solve problems swiftly and proactively.
  • Must have a can-do attitude, willing and able to roll up your sleeves and run a route when necessary.
  • Must be comfortable cold calling and prospecting new business.
  • Clean driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Hours per week: 45-50.
  • Commute to Neptune, NJ 2-3 days a week to meet with management. All other days you will go directly to the territory.
