Position Overview:The Maintenance Team is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Shelbyville facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, ensuring the production process runs smoothly without interruptions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
Respond to daily maintenance priorities and requests.
Identify and resolve potential equipment issues promptly.
Maintain equipment in a way that minimizes downtime and maximizes production efficiency.
Prepare equipment and facilities for production.
Address equipment failures or facility-related issues swiftly and professionally.
Communicate with the manager or lead when critical inventory parts are used.
Troubleshoot equipment problems and recommend solutions.
Implement contingency plans to maintain continuous production flow.
Ensure work areas are clean and free of safety hazards.
Return tools and auxiliary equipment to their proper storage after completing tasks or mold changes.
Clean machinery as needed.
Follow safety protocols at all times, including lockout/tagout procedures.
Comply with OSHA safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Associate degree in Maintenance Technology or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Injection Molding design and processing, preferably in the plastics industry.
Experience collaborating with external contractors.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician in the plastics industry.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of safety and quality standards.
Basic math, mechanical, and computer skills.
Forklift and crane operation experience.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work at heights.
Capacity to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to respond to changing priorities.
Familiarity with Injection Molding is a plus.
Work Conditions:
Work environment typical of a manufacturing facility.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Safety gear, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots, is required when operating machinery.
Loose clothing and jewelry are prohibited.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
Minimal travel may be required.
