Primary Objectives and Responsibilities:
In this position, the successful candidate will play a key role in the overall success of our organization by planning, managing, and monitoring accounting functions. You will be responsible for overseeing the Company’s accounting department and financial activities to ensure costs are controlled and profits are high.
Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing the Company’s financial policies and procedures by providing operational administrative direction to the accounting, budgeting, tax and insurance functions
Developing internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities
Maintaining the company’s financial structure and coordinating the Company’s relationships and covenants with financial institutions, suppliers, and government agencies
Managing all accounting functions including, but not limited to: General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing
Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analyze the financial results and risks.
Using financial reports, determine ways to reduce costs and maximize profits
Reviewing working capital on a regular basis and monitor the company’s cash flow
Overseeing and coordinates the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting process
Providing support and financial reports to management/leadership, particularly in commercial and financial matters
Directing and coordinating the Company’s annual year-end audit with the independent auditors.
Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Identify, develop, and monitor Company financial KPIs
Managing the Company’s business insurance policies
Screen, hire and train accounting department employees
Desired Profile:
BA/BS in accounting; CPA is required and an MBA is a plus
Minimum of seven (7) years accounting experience with at least three years in a managerial role; public accounting and small business experience preferred
Strong knowledge in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Processes, etc.
Technical and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning, accounting and tax areas of a business including a solid understanding of GAAP
Familiar with QuickBooks and NetSuite - experience with selecting and implementing account systems
Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers), demonstrated professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information
Must have strong skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and problem-solving
