Join a dynamic team and play a crucial part in driving excellence and efficiency within a leading investment firm. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with in-house accountants to perform tax withholding analysis on income distributions to investors.
  • Work with in-house accountants to prepare taxable income estimates and forecasts.
  • Work with external tax accountants and Investor Relations team to address investor related tax questions.
  • Work with external tax accountants to ensure compliance with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (“FATCA”), Common Reporting Standards (“CRS”) and other tax regulatory regimes.
  • Work with investment teams, the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel to identify and mitigate tax risks as well as analyze proposed restructuring and acquisition transactions.
  • Work with various investment teams, Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel to identify and structure investments by creating blocker corps, as necessary, to mitigate unwanted Effectively Connected Income (“ECI”) and Unrelated Business Taxable Income (“UBTI”).
  • Work with external tax accountants to file annual federal, state and other returns for various limited partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations in compliance with laws and regulations within specified time frames.  Some annual tasks related to the filings include but are not limited to the following:
    • Review book/tax differences and partner allocations
    • Analyze equity/debt reorganizations to determine proper tax treatment and disclosure
    • Review market discount/original issue discount calculations for accuracy and tax conformance
    • Review draft/final Schedule K-1s/tax returns for reporting accuracy before disseminating and filing.

Qualifications:

  • CPA license preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in asset management industry.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an unwavering commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
