Primary Objectives and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial statements for investors. This includes managing the accounting process, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.  The Fund Controller is often the main point of contact for the investors and is responsible for responding to inquiries, and providing regular updates on the fund's performance. Responsible for managing the audit process and ensuring that the fund is in compliance with tax regulations. Work closely with auditors and tax advisors to ensure that the fund is in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Oversee and monitor the day-to-day operations of the accounting staff as it relates to the Company's investment funds, including the establishment and ongoing review of the Company's accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintenance and development of effective internal controls and procedures.
  • Responsible for the production of timely and accurate financial reports and information.
  • Work with the Companys outside accounting firm on the year-end audit and perform detailed review of audit reports prior to final issuance.
  • Respond to various investor requests for reports and information.
  • Review legal terms for potential investments.
  • Hire and develop the Company's accounting staff.
 
Desired Profile:
  • CPA required - Big 4 experience a plus
  • Experience supervising and mentoring professional staff
  • Collaborative and team-focused work style
  • GAAP financial reporting, preferably as it relates to investment companies
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage complex and shifting priorities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
