As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the accounting and finance functions of our $100 million company in the Automotive industry.  

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Additionally, you will supervise a team of six accounting and finance professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, highlighting key trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to streamline processes, accelerate the closing timeline, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable budgets.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts, monitoring performance against budget and providing variance analysis and explanations.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit findings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the accounting and finance functions, implementing best practices and automation solutions as appropriate.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of six accounting and finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback to foster professional growth and development.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set performance goals, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency in US GAAP.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications.
  • Experience in the Automotive industry or related field is preferred but not required.
