Vice President of Lean
POSITION: Vice President of Lean
JOB LOCATION: Remote (Chicago, IL or Milwaukee, WI preferred)
Position Overview
The Vice President of Lean will play a leadership role in driving accelerated operating performance through continuous process improvement across the company. Emphasis is on leadership, continuous improvement skills and peer lead initiatives that will lead to sustaining capabilities within domestic and international businesses. This is an executive team position and reports directly to the organization’s President.
Key Responsibilities
· Developing and executing a comprehensive Lean transformation strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and goals
· Building and leading a high-performing Lean Transformation team, providing guidance and mentoring to team members
· Collaborating cross-functionally to promote a culture of Continuous Improvement
· Implementing Lean methodologies such as Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20
· Training and educating employees at all levels on Lean principles and tools
· Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings throughout the organization
· Leading and supporting projects to redesign and streamline workflows
· Establishing and maintaining systems for monitoring and reporting on the progress and impact of Lean initiatives
· Regularly reviewing and adjusting strategies based on performance data
· Prioritizing initiatives based on strategic objectives and potential return on investment
Education and Experience
· Bachelors Degree in related field; Advanced Degree preferred with technical or operational focus
· Demonstrated proficiency in Engineering, Supply Chain, Change Management, and Finance
· Minimum 10 years of experience in management and leadership roles including 2+ yeas of senior leadership experience in a Lean transformation role
· Proven experience utilizing and deploying Lean tools (Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20, etc.)
· Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
· Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
· Demonstrated ability to present to and influence senior business leaders; experience in a matrix organization and with partnering at all levels of the organization
