We are seeking an adept and dynamic Quality Manager to lead our flagship plant's Food Safety and Quality Assurance operations. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional who will play an integral part in the plant leadership team, ensuring excellence in regulatory compliance, continuous quality improvements, and robust team management.

Location: Modesto, CA

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 base, plus a 15% performance bonus, a 9% 401K match, comprehensive benefits, and relocation support.

Reporting To: Corporate Director of Food Safety and Quality

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety & Quality Compliance: Uphold all internal standards and external regulations, including FDA and CFIA requirements, to ensure daily operations meet the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Audit & Certification Leadership: Direct the plant’s HACCP, SQF, and FSMA programs. Act as the main point of contact for regulatory inspections and third-party audits.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and cultivate a team of over 50 QA professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in Food Safety and Quality.
  • Training & Orientation: Develop comprehensive onboarding and training programs on GMPs and quality standards, ensuring consistent and ongoing staff development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive improvement initiatives, monitor quality KPIs, and spearhead efforts to reduce complaints and prevent quality incidents.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, R&D, Sales, and Maintenance to resolve customer issues and support new product implementations.
  • Vendor Quality: Partner with Corporate QA to manage supplier performance and enforce corrective actions when necessary.
  • Documentation & SOPs: Create and maintain standard operating procedures and manage the department's budget effectively.
  • Sanitation & Environmental Monitoring: Oversee robust sanitation, pest control, and environmental monitoring programs.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food or beverage manufacturing sector.
  • At least 5 years of proven leadership experience.
  • Strong expertise in HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, SQF Code, food allergens, microbiology, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with continuous improvement processes.
