This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee commercial construction projects in San Antonio. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient management of all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement site logistics, including mobilization, signage, security, and neighbor relations.
  • Oversee material management to optimize production, including receiving, staging, storing, and timely delivery.
  • Establish and maintain engineering controls for both horizontal and vertical construction aspects.
  • Lead subcontractor pre-installation and weekly coordination meetings to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Enforce site utilization and lay down areas for subcontractors.
  • Continuously assess labor, material, and equipment needs to maintain project efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including SWPP, environmental, and pollution controls.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager for timely material delivery and subcontract installations.
  • Identify and address underperformance among subcontractors and team members promptly.
  • Manage third-party inspections and facilitate visits from owners and design teams.
  • Ensure the completion of all punch lists before project handover.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • Over 10 years of project superintendent experience in commercial public construction, particularly in highly regulated projects such as K-12 schools and hospitals.
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction plans, legal documents, and specifications.
  • Experience with creating and managing CPM schedules.
  • Ability to perform quantity take-offs and prepare accurate manpower and material estimates.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods and structural shop drawings, with a working knowledge of MEP systems.
  • Advanced organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in managing subcontractors to achieve project schedule, quality, safety, and budget goals.
  • Capability to manage challenging personalities and resolve project-related issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
