The purpose of the Accounting Manager is to manage & support the Accounting function of the Company. This position will report directly to the Accounting Director. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
 
  • Management of day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR & GL
  • Management of month & year end closing process
  • Preparation of month end schedules, reconciliations & accruals
  • Preparation of internal financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow)
  • Assist with parent company monthly & quarterly reporting
  • Ad hoc reporting & analysis
  • Assist with external audit preparation & requests
  • Research internal audit results
  • Manage & implement a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Preparation of various tax filings: including Annual reports, Sales Tax, Fuel Tax, Property Tax
  • Review & oversight of payroll processing for multi-state & international payroll
  • Preparation of internal payroll reporting & analysis
  • Coding expert for all customer-specific billable transactions.
  • Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices.
  • Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 7-10 years General Accounting experience 
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience a must
  • Strong knowledge of general accepted accounting principles, financial systems, accounting processes
  • Solid understanding of payroll processing & regulations compliance.
 
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office skills including experience with Excel (charts, formulas, pivots, and functions), Power Point and Word.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented.
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills.  Positive attitude.
  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management within the company and with vendors and customers.
