Job Description

Our client is seeking a full-time SPED Teacher – Essential Academics (High School) to support students with disabilities in a structured, self-contained classroom setting. This role focuses on providing individualized special education instruction, adapting curriculum, and collaborating with colleagues, families, and service providers to meet students' academic and behavioral needs.

  • Deliver individualized SPED instruction to high school students in a self-contained classroom
  • Develop and implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans
  • Adapt curriculum to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
  • Use student data to monitor progress and design differentiated lessons
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies
  • Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals
  • Participate in ARD meetings and implement team decisions
  • Incorporate technology and assistive tools to support SPED learning
  • Stay up to date on best practices in special education and classroom strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with SPED documentation requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Texas Special Education (SPED) certification
  • ESL certification preferred
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs
  • Strong understanding of SPED compliance, instructional methods, and behavior strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team
