Overview:

If you are an experienced professional in the aluminum industry, we invite you to join our team as a Commodity Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive global sourcing strategies for aluminum and related products. Your primary focus will be on achieving cost-effective procurement, ensuring timely delivery, and maximizing return on investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Supplier Management: Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, and selection processes. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate agreements, and monitor performance to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and support new product initiatives.
  • Process Optimization: Drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and implement best practices.
  • Supplier Continuous Improvement: Generate and present supplier performance metrics, manage corrective actions, and lead time reduction initiatives.
  • CITIZENSHIP:  Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder and able to work for any U.S. Employer. Sorry but sponsorship is not available for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of the aluminum industry, including both domestic and international markets.
  • Proficiency in commodities and derivative transactions.
  • Ability to travel domestically 25-50% of the time.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is beneficial.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited institution.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in a Supply Chain or Procurement role related to aluminum. Sorry but internship does not count towards time.
  • Background in purchasing within a manufacturing or engineered product environment.
  • Experience with global supply chain initiatives and strategic planning.
  • C.P.M., CPSM, or CPIM certification is preferred.
