Technical SME

Job Location-Fully Remote (Ability to travel up to 70%)

Overview:

Varada Consulting, LLC is seeking a full-time Technical SME that will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. The technical subject matter expert provides guidance in hands-on and remote support during pre-deployment operations across multiple sites. This role ensures seamless identification and preparedness of systems integration, escalates and resolves complex technical issues in real time, and coordinates with on-site teams to prepare for operational readiness and performance standards.

Required Experience:

• Serves as the primary technical advisor during pre-deployment
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align pre-deployment activities with operational goals
• Maintains technical documentation
• Provides feedback to improve deployment processes.

Minimum qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional work experience
• Ability to travel up to 70%
• Plans, designs, and oversees deployment of complex enterprise-wide or large-scale information architectures, including computer hardware and software, operating systems, middleware, communications hardware and software, and security components.
• Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures as they apply to the implementation and specification of complex information management solutions.
• Identifies necessary interfaces between enterprise solution applications and legacy IT environments.
• Supports all program/project planning and milestone development.
• Supports business case analysis and identification of alternative solutions and resulting business impacts.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field is required, or an additional 8 years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.

Preferred qualifications:

• VA experience preferred

• Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
