Position Overview


The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a key role in managing and optimizing enterprise applications—particularly ERP, CRM, inventory, and quality systems—across all functions. Acting as the internal owner of business systems, this individual partners with cross-functional leaders while also managing relationships with external IT and software vendors. In the absence of an internal IT department, the BSA ensures that systems align with operational, financial, and strategic goals. This role also bridges the gap between raw data and business decision-making through data modeling, dashboard design, and collaboration with system users.

Key Responsibilities

System Ownership & Optimization

  • Serve as the internal expert on ERP, CRM, and other business-critical platforms.

  • Document and streamline processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Quality.

  • Configure system roles, permissions, dashboards, and reporting functions.

  • Manage enterprise data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Translate business requirements into functional system solutions.

  • Support Finance with reporting, BOM costing, inventory reconciliations, and master data.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service on CRM workflows and customer integration (EDI/portal).

Vendor & Project Management

  • Act as primary contact with external IT providers and consultants.

  • Lead small to mid-sized system improvements and integration projects.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain operational and financial dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or ERP reporting tools.

  • Establish and maintain standards for data models, dashboards, and performance.

  • Analyze system data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

Governance & Data Integrity

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across all platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in business systems analysis or a related role.

  • 3+ years of combined experience in data modeling, Power BI development, or analytics.

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is required.

  • Experience in the Flavors, Ingredients, or Food Manufacturing industry is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage external IT vendors or MSPs.

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with reporting tools.

  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot), EDI, or PLM systems.

  • Familiarity with batch production, BOMs, and quality control.

  • Project management or Six Sigma experience is advantageous.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $75,000 – $105,000, commensurate with experience.
