Benefits Account Manager

The Agency is a growing, fast-paced full-service insurance agency. We are looking for a qualified Group Benefits Account Manager with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience servicing both individual and group clients. A valid Life & Health insurance license is required.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex messages and listen exceedingly well.
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently, while following Agency’s established procedures.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word, with an aptitude to learn other tools and applications.
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong team orientation.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and diligent task follow-through.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and contribute to the strategy around employee benefit programs, including coordinating the annual open enrollment process, whether on-line or in person, resolving issues, establishing the primary relationship with our clients and carriers and serving as a key contact for our client’s benefits-related questions.
  • Work with the Benefits Technology Department to promote and assist in the client’s use of our online open enrollment systems.
  • Accurately manage client accounts and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Market and place new business and/or renewal business, independently or in tandem with the producer.
  • Prepare renewal proposals.
  • Meet with producer and service teams to ensure service levels are being met.
  • Communicate and partner with our carriers to ensure we are meeting on the client expectations.
  • Maximize opportunities and take steps to increase knowledge of industry, regulatory requirements, tools and resources available to elevate the department and assist clients.
  • Answer questions from producer and the service teams regarding accounts.
  • Communicate with clients and answer questions regarding their policies and/or services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers and other agency staff.
  • Travel or visit insurance companies and/or clients, when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned appropriate to the position.
