Descriptive Summary
A Commercial Lines Account Manager for an independent insurance and surety provider in Michigan. The Account Manager assists in the production of new accounts and the retention of existing accounts. This individual is part of the Commercial Lines team and provides prompt, efficient and high-quality service to customers in support of Producer/agency activities.
Key Accountabilities

Build and maintain the highest degree of relationships between customer, producer, agency, and company personnel
Foster effective working relationships within the team, with Producers, and across agency locations and departments ensuring the overall success of the agency
Enable growth of agency revenue by securing new business through referrals, cross-selling, and up-selling
Retain existing customers by performing stewardship initiatives implemented by the Producer or Commercial Lines Manager to deliver an exceptional customer experience
Essential Duties
Maintain knowledge of new developments or changes with carriers and new federal/state laws that may affect our customers’ insurance programs.
Responsible for the direct handling of existing accounts, responding to time sensitive needs with urgency and the highest degree of care. Works in accordance with Producer as necessary.
Research and analyze data contributing to the development and enhancement of a customer’s insurance program and recommend the appropriate coverage.
Process service requests (policy changes, certificates of insurance, billing, etc.) and prepare/modify documents (correspondence, reports, memos, emails, etc.), delivering the highest quality to customers.
Perform data entry functions in agency management system and/or specific rating and underwriting systems ensuring accuracy.
Prioritize projects, possess attention to detail, achieve service standards, and meet deadlines.
Responsible for following procedures and unified processes, constantly achieving positive outcomes for both internal personnel and external customers alike, ensuring extraordinary customer satisfaction and utmost departmental efficiency.
Secure and properly handle all private/sensitive agency and customer information (medical, social security numbers, drivers’ licenses, financials, etc.) at all times.
Maintain compliance with all company policies.

Perform other related duties as directed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of Commercial Lines Account Manager experience
Property & Casualty License required
Professional Designations encouraged
Working knowledge of all Commercial Lines products
Excellent organization, planning, and prioritization skills
High level of computer proficiency
Work equally well independently and as a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, problem solving and judgment skills
Self-starter and results-oriented team player with a constant focus on improving process
Ability to work efficiently with little direction in fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of AMS360 account management system is preferred
