Estimator and Project Manager

Summary:
Timely, complete accurate estimates to support the sales process.
Projects completed to contract requirements -
· Performance expectations
· Schedule commitments
· Budget estimate
This role also provides quoting support and generates new business opportunities. Oversees Jobs and major projects to ensure customer satisfaction and budget control. This role provides after sale project management support for project sold by the Sales team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each of the primary duties satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· Must have 10+ years’ experience with the pipe fitting processes and 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory role on a job site
· Actively plan, execute, monitor and reschedule (as needed) field activities to manage project completion to scheduled commitments. This includes the authority to direct daily schedules and overtime needed to maintain project schedules.
· Experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations in commercial construction
· Quote project and prepare estimate costs based on the customer’s scope budget and site in a timely manner.
· Order the required parts and components.
· Manage project budget, including cost of materials, labor hours, travel and equipment rentals
· Troubleshoot project issues and complications as the arise, putting process in place to prevent the same issues from occurring again
· Visit project sites as needed to review conditions and ensure preconstruction processes are on track
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
· Performs daily walkthroughs of project/work site to confirm availability and use of proper materials and tools
· Exhibits good housekeeping practices in all work areas
· Be the primary point of contact, and collaborate with PM’s, Field Service Supervisors and VP of Operations regarding jobs
Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Construction Management or equivalent work experience:
· Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Project skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Organized, motivated self-starter with the specified experience within the utility construction industry
· In-depth knowledge of building codes and construction regulations
· Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt and excel in fast-paced, constantly changing environments
· Strong math skills, ability to interpret and work with blueprints and project design documents
· Must be professional in appearance and speech
Physical Demands:
Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, including ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Also requires frequent bending, lifting, standing and walking over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
