Principal RF/Microwave Design Engineer

The Principal RF/Microwave Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and advancement of cutting-edge RF/microwave receivers, frequency-converters, and associated products tailored for SIGINT, EW, and radar applications. This position mandates proficiency in RF/MW circuitry design up to 18GHz using SMT components on PCB substrates. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in conducting top-level requirements analyses, system architecture design, and allocation of functional requirements for sub-assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as both an individual contributor and lead engineer for significant design initiatives in the RF/MW domain.
  • Provide comprehensive technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Deliver engaging technical presentations to customers in support of design review requisites.
  • Offer technical support for Business Development endeavors, including the preparation of white papers and technical proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on expertise in PCB-based RF/MW circuitry design supporting receivers and frequency converters up to 18GHz and beyond is essential. Desired competencies include experience in wide bandwidth, high dynamic range, and super-heterodyne receiver design. Familiarity with mmW frequency range design, wideband digitization, and low SWaP design is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in receiver/frequency converter system design, encompassing frequency planning, spur analysis, RF/MW filter technologies, cascade GNIP analysis, MW mixers, frequency generation employing PLL ICs, and design trade-offs, is required.
  • Minimum qualification of a BSEE and a decade or more of pertinent experience in RF/microwave circuit design.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of technical prowess coupled with strong interpersonal skills, facilitating both individual technical contributions and effective leadership and guidance for fellow project team engineers.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities are paramount, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with and lead a diverse group of engineering disciplines.
  • Proficiency with computer design tools such as Keysight Genesys, OrCad, MATLAB, PSPICE, or analogous platforms is preferred.
  • Candidates must be US citizens and possess the capacity to obtain security clearance.
