Our client is looking for a dedicated System Administrator to oversee the maintenance, upgrading, and support of Linux operating systems and enterprise-level infrastructure. The role requires a technically skilled individual who can troubleshoot issues effectively, communicate across diverse teams, and contribute to the transition to cloud-based environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain system infrastructure, including databases, hardware, and software components.
  • Provide technical support for resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Conduct system monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting to ensure hardware and system availability.
  • Perform software and firmware upgrades on a regular basis.
  • Assist with the integration of new technologies and applications into existing systems.
  • Test system patches and manage server builds and updates.
  • Address system anomalies and optimize performance through tuning activities.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a system administrator.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages and system automation tools.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman).
  • Working knowledge of GitLab, Puppet, and IP networking concepts (e.g., switching, subnets, VLANs).
  • General understanding of hardware systems, including servers, network storage, PDUs, and KVMs.
  • Ability to handle after-hours support requests as needed.
  • Knowledge of system security, vulnerabilities, and LDAP clients/servers.
  • Certifications: Security+ or CISSP (required).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph (full-scope polygraph highly desirable).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and adaptable to dynamic environments.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 - $210,000 (commensurate with experience).
