Assistant Plant ManagerLocation: El Monte, CA

Our client, a leading metal processing company, has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Plant Manager at their Los Angeles (El Monte) location. This role will oversee daily plant operations, ensuring policies and procedures are followed while developing processes that maximize safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage plant and warehouse operations, including production scheduling, maintenance, quality, shipping, and receiving, to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Oversee and prioritize the interactions between production, shipping, receiving, and truck loading to maximize workflow efficiency.
  • Foster a proactive and collaborative strategy to maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a strong and visible presence on the shop floor to promptly address questions, resolve issues, and manage priorities.
  • Uphold a robust quality system to ensure high standards of product quality and on-time delivery.
  • Identify and implement timely corrective measures to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment through preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve safety, quality, and financial performance.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, materials, and tools in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Promote positive employee relations to maintain high morale and engagement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a metal manufacturing environment in a similar leadership role.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to plan and execute daily activities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a solid mathematical aptitude.
  • Proven ability to identify, communicate, and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, and stewardship best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster accountability and lead by example.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and communication tools, including email, phone, voicemail, and videoconferencing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with office administrative procedures and standard office equipment usage.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to focus on both close and distant vision.
