About the Opportunity

Join a dynamic, leading-edge manufacturing site specializing in the precision cutting, assembly, and high-volume processing of building components for major national suppliers and distributors. This site operates two-shift production in a fast-paced, high-speed, and highly automated environment utilizing robotics, offering the support and resources of a top multi-site organization.

The Quality Manager is a hands-on leadership role, supporting operational compliance, continuous improvement, and direct team development on the shop floor and in the office. This is a rare opportunity to drive quality impactful quality initiatives, oversee critical customer and industry alignment, and directly enhance product excellence in an essential regional manufacturing hub.

We're looking for someone who can not only analyze data to understand a problem but also get out on the floor, work with production, and be an integral part of the solution and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of QA technicians and inspectors across a multi-shift operation.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop quality investigations, leading root cause analysis events (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone), and guiding the team to think through problems logically for effective preventive action.

  • Identify, implement, and champion best practices for process optimization, waste reduction, and quality enhancement, with a strong focus on driving tangible improvements.

  • Conduct regular audits of processes, equipment, and work cells to mitigate risks and maintain rigorous compliance with our internal QMS and industry certficiations

  • Analyze and report on performance trends, presenting actionable insights and recommendations to leadership. This includes translating data into on-the-floor solutions.

  • Oversee customer quality concerns, manage CAPA/SCAR processes, and ensure timely issue resolution.

  • Organize and deliver quality training sessions for production teams and support staff.

  • Lead preparation and execution for internal and external audits, regulatory and industry certifications.

  • Maintain and calibrate quality-related tools, instruments, and documentation.

  • Serve as the site quality representative in meetings, project teams, and industry forums.

  • Support all plant safety programs and participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives.

  • Travel approximately 10% for customer/site visits and an annual quality summit. Some customer visits may be day trips, others requiring overnight stays.

  • Oversee customer quality concerns, manage CAPA/SCAR processes, and ensure timely issue resolution. Crucially, establish and maintain strong relationships directly with customers to gain direct feedback from their operations.

Position Details

  • On-site; approximately 40–50% spent on the production floor, remainder in office setting.

  • Full-time, salaried with flexible hours; occasional weekends required.

  • Reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience, with at least 3 years in a quality management leadership role within a high-speed manufacturing, component assembly, or production environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving and data analysis skills, with demonstrated proficiency in root cause and corrective action methodologies.
  • Track record of effective team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Familiarity with customer complaint resolution and regulatory compliance protocols.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular strength in Excel.

Desired Additional Experience

  • Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) or similar certification.

  • Experience with formal Quality Management Systems (QMS).

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing tools and practices.

  • Prior facilitation of quality training programs and customer audit preparations.

  • OSHA 10 General Industry certification.

  • Statistical process control and analysis experience.

  • Fast-moving, team-oriented, and safety-focused individual with a drive to push for continuous improvements.

Salary

 $100,000–$120,000 + Full Benefits + Paid Relocation
