Our client, a respected and expanding law firm based in Downtown Austin, is seeking a skilled Intellectual Property/Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file trademark, copyright, and patent applications with relevant authorities.

  • Conduct comprehensive trademark searches and assess potential conflicts.

  • Organize and maintain accurate intellectual property records and databases.

  • Draft and review legal documents, including agreements, correspondence, and internal reports.

  • Track deadlines for filings, renewals, and other IP-related actions to ensure timely compliance.

  • Assist with the preparation of responses to USPTO office actions and communications with other regulatory bodies.

  • Research current intellectual property laws, regulations, trends, and best practices.

  • Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and external counsel on various IP matters.

  • Provide support for IP enforcement efforts, including litigation assistance when necessary.

  • Prepare and present clear and concise reports and summaries for attorneys and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with a strong focus on patent prosecution.

  • Proficient with IP databases, docketing systems, and legal research tools.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related legal software.
