Our client, a respected and expanding law firm based in Downtown Austin, is seeking a skilled Intellectual Property/Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join their team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file trademark, copyright, and patent applications with relevant authorities.
Conduct comprehensive trademark searches and assess potential conflicts.
Organize and maintain accurate intellectual property records and databases.
Draft and review legal documents, including agreements, correspondence, and internal reports.
Track deadlines for filings, renewals, and other IP-related actions to ensure timely compliance.
Assist with the preparation of responses to USPTO office actions and communications with other regulatory bodies.
Research current intellectual property laws, regulations, trends, and best practices.
Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and external counsel on various IP matters.
Provide support for IP enforcement efforts, including litigation assistance when necessary.
Prepare and present clear and concise reports and summaries for attorneys and clients.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with a strong focus on patent prosecution.
Proficient with IP databases, docketing systems, and legal research tools.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related legal software.
