Key Responsibilities:
Support attorneys in civil defense litigation, including insurance defense, general liability, personal injury, product liability, and professional malpractice cases.
Draft, review, and manage legal documents such as discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and motions.
Organize and manage case files and maintain accurate litigation calendars and deadlines.
Prepare summaries of medical records, deposition transcripts, and other case materials.
Coordinate with clients, experts, court personnel, and witnesses.
Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and jury instructions.
Conduct factual and legal research, including background research on parties, witnesses, and experts.
Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and gather case information.
Review and analyze evidence, pleadings, and discovery materials to assist in strategy development.
Use litigation support software and document management systems effectively.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of defense litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting.
Strong understanding of civil procedure and rules of court at the state and federal levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
Familiarity with legal case management software (e.g., TrialDirector, Relativity, Clio, or similar).
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize workloads, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Paralegal certificate or degree preferred but not required if experience is equivalent.
