Payroll Administrator

Location: Oakdale, CA

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Compensation Range: $32-$36

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Payroll Administrator to manage payroll execution and compliance for our organization. This role will partner closely with managers to ensure accuracy in timecards, meal break compliance, garnishments, and payroll adjustments. The ideal candidate will bring strong payroll expertise, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to support ongoing HR and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.

  • Partner with managers on timecard reviews, missed meals, payroll adjustments, and garnishments.

  • Manage payroll system processes in iSolved through PayrollPeople, with integrations into ERP systems, Teams, and SharePoint.

  • Perform payroll reconciliations and maintain accurate records.

  • Utilize Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations, etc.) for payroll and compensation analysis.

  • Support compliance reporting and audits.

  • Assist with compensation analysis and benchmarking.

  • Contribute to HR initiatives such as the employee newsletter, recognition programs, and wellness/engagement activities.

  • Communicate effectively with managers and employees, providing guidance while maintaining professionalism and the ability to push back when necessary.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll administration experience; HR/payroll hybrid experience a plus.

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations).

  • Experience with iSolved or similar payroll systems preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; confident working with managers and executives.

  • Familiarity with compliance requirements related to payroll and HR.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $32–$36 per hour (flexible for highly qualified candidates).

  • Status: Salaried exempt preferred; open to hourly based on candidate preference.
