The Mechanical Estimator owns the creation of our Heavy Civil bids and the relationships with theOperations team and our business partners. Due to the growth of environmental markets, we requireexperience in water, wastewater, water treatment, process piping and heavy civil mechanicalestimating. The candidate in this role must have experience estimating $20 to $80 million projects andabove.
The successful candidate will have the ability and desire to distinguish themselves by delivering cost-effective and repeatable solutions to our customers’ most challenging problems.
The individual in this role manages tight deadlines and excels in a fast-paced environment. Reporting tothe Estimating Manager, this leader will be a critical team member for our ongoing growth. Theworkweek will have the entire Complete-Build-Engage-Prepare cycle in municipal and private projectestimating. As TCI’s conceptual estimating work increases, the work will include more ECP work.Our client is a self-performing environmental general contractor and developer specializing inmunicipal and private water, wastewater, and industrial construction. Since our establishment in 1999,we have grown into experts in Sustainable Solutions for environmental and industrial, large-scaleprojects.
Essential and Required Qualifications and Skills
The individual in this role will be an effective team builder and can work strategically with all levels ofthe organization.
The key to success in this role is to have experience in Pre-Fabrication, Integration with BIM, modularconstruction, relationships with vendors and experience in the cycle of Conceptual to DetailedEstimating.
The candidate will have• 5+ years of estimating and preconstruction bid experience with large projects in water,wastewater, and/or other heavy civil projects;• Proven experience in delivering estimating for $20 million to $80 million bids;• The ability and experience to bid underground piping;• A leadership style that mirrors company values;• The ability to build and maintain industry contacts that will contribute to bid success;• Highly refined analytical abilities;• Proficient computer, excel, and estimating software skills with the willingness to keep theseskills updated;• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills;• Polished and effective influencing skills;• Field experience in estimating, purchasing, project management, submittal review, and/or costcontrol;• The personality that equates to being highly motivated, organized, and detail oriented;• The ability to bid underground piping;• An unexpired Driver’s License;• The ability to travel to job sites;• The ability to navigate a jobsite that has uneven surfaces, ruts, and other uneven walkingsurfaces in all types of weather conditions;• The ability to work seated at a desk, for 8 hours or longer;• The ability to perform two-handed work at a computer, for 8 hours or longer.Preferred Qualifications• College Degree Preferred;• Experience with the process for digital bid submittals.
