Outstanding opportunity for a Financial Controller who is looking to oversee all accounting and finance activities within a successful and growing manufacturing company. The Controller ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the effective management of financial resources.

This highly visible role provides critical financial insight to leadership to support business decisions and enhance operational efficiency through performance tracking against operational goals and directing the preparation of financial and production reports to evaluate and manage activities and costs. The ideal candidate will be capable of long-term growth with the company while serving as a financial business partner to the executive team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead month-end financial results processes for the manufacturing operation, including, but not limited to, month end closing and reporting, reconciliations, labor variance analysis, and other supporting analysis.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget process.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices and managing cash flow.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments and minimizing outstanding balances.
  • Project weekly invoicing expectations and review variances with management.
  • Provide a system of management cost reports. Analyze production costs and implement strategies to improve cost efficiency. Conduct regular cost audits to ensure accurate product costing.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Oversee inventory management and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support operational initiatives. Analyze and use data to create departmental KPIs for a data-driven culture.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify growth opportunities and assess financial implications.
  • Maintain working knowledge of ERP system.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and 3+ years of experience working with ERP systems.
  • Hands-on leader who can effectively delegate, mentor and develop subordinates, and foster a collaborative team approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fluid, time-sensitive environment.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office, with advanced Excel expertise.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation abilities. Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative and analytical with the ability to present technical analyses to mixed audiences in an actionable format that enables data-driven decision making.
  • Capable of developing beyond this role as a key business partner to the leadership team.
