RESTRUCTURING ATTORNEY – SENIOR ASSOCIATE / COUNSEL

Our client, a prominent Amlaw 50 global law firm, is seeking a talented Senior Associate or Counsel Attorney to join its prominent Restructuring Practice Group. This role focuses on bankruptcy litigation and distressed asset disputes, offering an opportunity to work on sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional restructurings and some of the most challenging insolvency matters in the market. The team is known for delivering commercial, strategic solutions to debtors, creditors, lenders, committees, and other key stakeholders in major restructuring matters worldwide.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing
  • 6+ years of substantive experience in bankruptcy litigation or restructuring disputes
  • Experience drafting and arguing briefs, taking and defending depositions, and managing complex litigation matters
  • Strong familiarity with Chapter 11 practice, bankruptcy code issues, and distressed asset litigation
  • Excellent written advocacy, oral communication, and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated and able to handle significant responsibility independently and within a collaborative team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues across practices

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support bankruptcy litigation, contested matters, adversary proceedings, and distressed asset disputes
  • Draft, research, and argue motions and briefs in complex restructuring matters
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in all stages of litigation strategy
  • Manage case teams, junior associates, and workflow across multiple active matters
  • Advise clients on restructuring strategy, litigation risks, and commercial outcomes
  • Work with teams across offices on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional restructuring matters
  • Engage directly with stakeholders including debtors, creditors, committees, lenders, and financial institutions

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Expected annual base salary ranges from $390,000 to $470,000, as determined by experience and market factors
