We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician with operational knowledge of automated industrial equipment to support the day-to-day operations of our produce packing facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in general maintenance of industrial equipment with experience on electrical and pneumatic components, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

General Maintenance:
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, including motors, belts, compressors, packaging machines, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in the maintenance log.
 
Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA, food safety regulations and facility policies.
  • Identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents or equipment failure.
 
Support Operations:
  • Respond quickly to maintenance requests from production and warehouse teams to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or upgrades.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
 
Electrical Maintenance:
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in accordance with local codes and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues with machinery, control panels, conveyors, lighting, and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical components and systems to reduce risk of failure.

 

Additional skills such as plumbing and metal fabrication is beneficial

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an industrial or facility maintenance technician, with electrical systems knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Familiarity with VFDs, control panels, and low-voltage systems is a strong asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks (climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, etc.).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during shifts.

 

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Full-time position.
