PROCESS ENGINEERING MANAGER – Heavy Industry

The successful Candidate will be an energetic, motivated, driven & collaborative Process Engineering Manager with heavy industry experience for our client’s long-standing, heavy industry manufacturing operations in Utah.

Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in Heavy Industrial Manufacturing as a Process Engineer.
  • 3+ years of Leadership experience leading an engineering team.
  • Ability to resolve process and equipment problems
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, techniques, processes and procedures. 
  • Extensive experience in project management. 
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience.
  • Extensive experience in Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing & problem-solving skills.

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

 

Software:

  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.  
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities: This position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the processes and operations within the operation.  Primary focus is on improving efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements. Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Improve production techniques & develop test procedures for manufacturing operations.
  • Determine and review all manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and feasibility, both before and after engineering releases to manufacturing.
  • Determine priorities with the Department Managers and support cost-reduction projects; maintain detailed documentation as required.
  • Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures for manufacturing operations.
  • Plan and formulate engineering program and organize department staff according to project and/or manufacturing requirements. 
  • Review, evaluate and monitor all design, engineering, and proposed technological development/enhancement as related to all product lines including chemical processes, and metal processing. 
  • Maintain integration of the Process Engineers into the Organization. 
  • Provide engineering leadership that aligns with engineering in terms of project execution, change control, engineering discipline, and integration with appropriate disciplines for project or change execution.
  • Develop new or improved methods or changes to process to improve yields and reduce costs for product line.
  • Use vision and drive to establish the processes and controls necessary to meet the expected growth of the facility.
  • Resolve process and equipment problems for and with employees, management, customer(s) and /or vendor(s).
  • Determine appropriate machine down-time operations in conjunction with production requirements.
  • Use six sigma, learn or other tools to improve the implementation of manufacturing processes.
  • Act as the liaison between Maintenance and Manufacturing to provide technical support.
