Quality Manager - MetalsOur client has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager who desires to play an instrumental role in the execution of quality assurance and quality control procedures in a large fabrication plant.  The Quality Manager will work directly with the management team to ensure conformance to quality standards and adherence to the quality system. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Expertise in quality systems (i.e. ISO 9001, Six Sigma)
• 10+ years of experience in quality roles, preferably quality management
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment in a hands-on role
• Technical orientation with the ability to analyze complex problems and formulate solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent from or Associate’s degree in these fields.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Collaborate with management team to oversee quality assurance, quality control and inspection of production manufacturing operations for fabricated metal products.
• Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for the development and manufacturing of products.
• Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
• Develop, document, and audit practices, program quality, and metrics reporting system.
• Perform and coordinate inspections and determine quality assurance testing models of raw materials and finished products.
• Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits.
• Maintain, and update as necessary, the quality manual.
• Strive to develop quality assurance through fixture design, poka-yoke, and robust check fixtures.
• Liaise with customer and vendor quality teams to ensure quality at the source.
• Perform FMEA and develop control plans for critical parts produced in the plant.
