Commercial Underwriting Manager – Financial Services

Location: Miami, FL

 

Our client, a prominent financial services company specializing in commercial real estate transactions, is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriters and title professionals. This role offers an opportunity to drive operational success while providing expert underwriting support for complex commercial transactions.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD required.
  • Florida Bar Admission.
  • 5–7 years of underwriting experience with a focus on complex commercial transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • Experience managing underwriting operations at a national or regional level.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain high-level relationships with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic decision-making skills.
  • National Commercial experience preferred.
  • Can be remotely based in Florida in any city, with ability to travel to Miami, if necessary.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the daily operations of the underwriting team, setting priorities and ensuring the highest standards of service in commercial transactions.
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies in collaboration with senior management to align with broader business objectives.
  • Oversee and guide underwriting reviews, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, attorneys, and industry professionals to expand business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events and networking functions to enhance market presence and drive new business.
  • Provide training and mentorship to underwriting teams, ensuring operational efficiency and professional development.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including marketing and sales, to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting policies and practices.
