As a Site Civil Design Lead, you will guide the civil design of water and wastewater treatment plant expansions, improvements, and new designs. Working alongside process, mechanical, structural, and electrical experts, you'll deliver custom, complex designs for municipalities navigating the challenges of aging infrastructure and evolving regulations. Your work will make a real difference, and you'll enjoy a collaborative team atmosphere in which to do it.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of designers in producing detailed civil design plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
  • Collaborate with other design teams to develop comprehensive site plans that exceed client expectations
  • Perform and review hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for grading and drainage plans
  • Develop yard piping plans and optimize hydraulic alignments within facilities
  • Coordinate stormwater, floodplain, grading, and other permits with local entities
  • Navigate local developmental standards and permitting requirements
  • Recommend construction sequencing for construction phase services
  • Develop criteria for construction and plant operations
  • Use your experience to mentor and help grow the team

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or biosystems/agricultural engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Five or more years of direct site civil design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

Bonus points if you bring these:

  • Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or biosystems/agricultural engineering
  • Floodplain Manager certification (CFM)
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D software
  • Expertise in designing lift stations, booster pump stations, pipelines, and water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Experience working with process, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines
  • Experience developing erosion and sedimentation control plans
  • Active participation in local professional organizations
