Position Overview

Sales Manager
The primary responsibility is to position and sell the full range of trim products across North America. This includes developing sales strategies, maintaining and growing customer relationships, and collaborating with operations and pricing teams to optimize revenue through lean point optimization, customer diversity, formula enhancements, and market forecasting. The role also involves identifying new customers, assessing current customer needs, and contributing to sales development efforts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of market conditions, trends, and pricing

  • Create and implement a sales plan while managing administrative tasks

  • Execute and track key sales performance indicators in alignment with management

  • Partner with customers to quote, negotiate, and sell products in accordance with pricing guidelines

  • Develop tailored customer sales strategies to meet objectives

  • Process orders and ensure high order fill rates and on-time deliveries

  • Collaborate with plant scheduling and production teams to communicate daily production needs

  • Collect and share insights on market trends, customers, competitors, and pricing strategies

  • Manage customer contracts effectively

  • Resolve claims and disputes, escalating complex issues as needed

  • Maintain a strong understanding of plant capabilities and limitations

  • Maintain frequent communication with accounts to ensure satisfaction and alignment

  • Work closely with pricing and operations to maximize value on trim, primals, and offal

  • Coordinate full truckload orders where feasible

  • Foster positive relationships with internal teams and external clients

  • Communicate effectively on delivery timelines, order statuses, and product availability

  • Occasional travel (approximately 20%) for customer meetings, plant visits, and market research

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (relevant experience may substitute)

  • At least two years of experience in beef sales required

  • Scheduling and plant operations experience is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of industry processes and product documentation

  • Proven success in sales planning, forecasting, and execution

  • Excellent communication, presentation, decision-making, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to build and sustain productive relationships with clients and coworkers

  • Skilled in interpreting data from multiple sources to develop actionable plans

  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones

  • Strong team orientation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
