Our client, a large food manufacturer with a modern facility is looking for a Millwright to join their Brampton, ON team! This is a newly created position geared for someone who is highly motivated and looking to grow within a successful organization.

 

As the Millwright; you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of mechanical equipment and systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation. *A valid 433 is required

 

Millwright details:

  • ·              Hourly rate: $38.22-$40.58 based on experience
  • ·              Benefits after 90 days.
  • ·              $350 tool allowance/year
  • ·              $250 boot allowance/year
  • ·              2 Weeks holidays
  • ·              6:30am - 2:30pm** Monday to Friday. Flexibility required.  

 

Millwright Responsibilities

  • ·              Providing mechanical expertise and supporting the facility in mechanical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets.
  • ·              Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures, identifying the root cause and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • ·              Performing routine Preventative Maintenance and work order tasks as requested.
  • ·              Identifying high-risk downtime areas in a fast-paced production environment and working together to minimize the risks.
  • ·              Completing maintenance reports and logs as required in supporting effective maintenance systems.
  • ·              Maintaining good housekeeping practices in work areas.
  • ·              Liaising with other departments within the facility, ensuring effective communication.
  • ·              Working effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety.
  • ·              Adhering to all safety & quality policies and procedures.
  • ·              Working in the Maintenance team and other team members while reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

Millwright Qualifications:

  • ·              A valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License 433A is a must.
  • ·              3- 5 years of working experience as a licensed millwright is required within food manufacturing *meat processing would be an asset.
  • ·              Awareness of all safety and food safety standards and maintenance requirements is necessary.
  • ·              Strong work ethic and a demonstrated sense of urgency are essential.
  • ·              Good communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • ·              Ability to work well in an unsupervised environment and as part of a team is required.
  • ·              Proven troubleshooting ability with an emphasis on safety and reliability is necessary.
  • ·              Capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
