KIT Recruitment continues to engage in a positive, fulfilling relationship with this well-known Food Manufacturer in the London, Ontario area and we are actively looking for a Full-time Production/Relief Machine Operator.  This is a dual role that includes duties in both Machine Operation and Production. Your shifts will be assigned based on your seniority and the production schedule. Please note that pay rates will vary depending on whether you are working in Production or as a Machine Operator. 

 

Machine Operator, Relief Details:

  • Flexible work schedule. Must be available to start between 1am-6am, 9am-3pm, or 4pm-10pm. Please note you will be on one of the three mentioned shifts.  8.5 hours shifts, scheduled 5 days a week between Monday to Saturday. Example shift 4am-12:30pm. 
  • Production Associate, $19.97/hr 70 shifts (probationary period) $22.18 after probation.
  • Machine Operator: $24.11/hr 70 shifts (probationary period) $26.78/hr after probation
  • Additional +$0.75 shift premium for any hours worked between 7pm-5am.
  • Benefits after Probationary Period
  • 3% RRSP contribution by employer after probationary period
  • 2 Weeks Holidays after 1 full year of employment

 

Machine Operator, Relief Job Duties:

  • Equipment set up and troubleshooting adjustments, to keep products within standard and to keep all the lines running at or above required performance.
  • Maintaining the required hygiene standards of the equipment and the facility, consistent with GMP standards and Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Waste removal from production areas as needed
  • Maintaining all BRC audit paperwork and other required documentation as may be required.
  • Liaising with appropriate staff throughout the shift to ensure continuous process and quality standards.
  • Start and operate all equipment within the department assigned, however, Critical Equipment such as the VRT and Abrigo robotic cutters will be handled by the Maintenance department.
  • Product changeovers on all equipment not classified as CRITICAL by operations.
  • Work efficiently and be sure that changeovers are smooth with minimal downtime and all time accounted for

Production Job Duties:

  • Work on the production line in a variety of roles (Depositing, Decorating and Packaging) to produce our high-quality cake products.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Work on various tasks with a focus on detail and quality. 

 

Machine Operator, Relief Requirements:

  • 2 years experience working in a FOOD Manufacturing facility as a setup operator preferred
  • Scheduling flexibility in availability
  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Ability to follow diagrams of equipment setups on the line
  • Strong English communication
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and follow instructions
