KIT Recruitment is working with a reputable food manufacturing client to find a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager for their Etobicoke facility. This is a great opportunity for a proven operations leader with a strong background in continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and CAPEX management—particularly someone with experience in case-ready or retail-ready meat processing environments.
The Plant Manager will oversee all facets of production, warehousing, and operational efficiency within a non-unionized plant. You will work closely with senior leadership and other departments to ensure optimal plant performance while upholding safety, quality, and operational goals.
Plant Manager – Role Details:
· Base Salary: $130K–$150K (based on experience)
· Bonus: 15% annual performance bonus
· Vacation: 3 weeks*
· Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (with flexibility)

Plant Manager – Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily production and processing operations to meet quality and delivery targets
· Align staffing, scheduling, and materials with demand and inventory plans
· Lead capital projects and manage annual budgets, expenses, and cost controls
· Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools, 5S, and process optimization techniques
· Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and Warehousing to support workflow and fulfillment
· Supervise plant staff, ensure training, and enforce health, safety, and HR policies
· Support FSQA in maintaining food safety programs and certification compliance
· Monitor KPIs and operational metrics, identifying and resolving performance gaps
· Foster a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards
· Handle escalated issues, including service disruptions and quality complaints
Plant Manager – Qualifications
· 5 + years of experience in a Plant Manager or similar leadership role in food processing or manufacturing * meat processing experience an asset.
· Prior experience in a GMP-regulated environment (food, pharma, etc.) is required
· Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) certification required.
· Proven success in managing capital projects and budget oversight
· Strong analytical skills for data-based decision-making
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Comfortable using ERP systems, MS Office, and Google Suite
· Familiarity with HACCP, food safety regulations, and health & safety compliance
· A change management certification (e.g., ADKAR) is a plus
