Service Desk Technician - Horizon

 

Work Location - Saskatoon

Reporting to the Senior Support Analyst, the Service Desk Technicians assist customers, when things have gone wrong.  The Service Desk Technician is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy solving technical problems and helping others get the most from their technology. As a key member of our service team, you will assist clients when issues arise, providing in-person support and performing repairs on computers, networks, printers, phones, and tablets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality technical support to internal and external clients.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Windows and Mac computers.
  • Support client networks, including basic configuration and connectivity issues.
  • Perform hardware and software repairs across a range of devices.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Accurately document service activities in Horizon’s service management system.
  • Complete repairs, updates, and administrative tasks promptly and accurately.
  • Assist with general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and experience with computer or electronics repair.
  • Eagerness to learn, take on new challenges, and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; team-oriented mindset.
  • Availability to work rotating schedules.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 kilograms (50 pounds).

 

Education and Experience

  • Training in computer service or related field; prior experience in a service environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Apple and/or Windows hardware.
  • Hands-on experience servicing computers, printers, and networks is an asset.

 

Require Licences and/or Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check in good standing prior to the first day of employment.
