IT Specialist

Client Location: Combination of work to be performed on client premises (Winnipeg, MB) and remotely

Engagement Period: April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025

Working Hours: 8 hours daily, Monday to Friday (excluding stat holidays and mandatory vacation time off as specified by the client). Available for working during core business hours, between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (Central Time).

The client is looking to engage an IT Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of IT industry experience working in an infrastructure environment, with a solid understanding of network, storage, and servers. This engagement will be effective from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025.

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 5 years of IT industry experience working in an infrastructure environment, with a solid understanding of network, storage, and servers.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT operational environment.

Responsibilities:

• Install and configure server operating systems.
• Install, configure, and test business applications and associated hardware/peripherals.
• Patch systems, including operating systems, database technologies, and application software.
• Assist with the implementation of server hardware and server virtualization upgrades.
• Resolve Tier II level incidents and requests for service.
• Create system documentation, including design, build, configuration, recovery, and operational procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Completion of a recognized diploma or degree program in a related IT discipline.
• A minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology support and service delivery.
• Experience with SCCM/MECM is an asset.
• Requires knowledge of Windows Server and experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining current Microsoft server products, including Microsoft SQL and IIS.
• Intermediate experience in failover, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Basic knowledge of server virtualization.

Additional Assets:

• Linux experience is an asset.
• DHCP and DNS experience is an asset.
• PowerShell/batch scripting experience is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have a Windows-based computer with standard Windows applications.
• Must possess own communication device.
