Senior Financial Controller
Location: Saskatoon
Full-Time Permanent, 40 hrs a week Monday-Friday

Horizon Computer Solutions Inc. is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking a business leader who can guide the financial systems that empower our business. We are seeking an experienced financial professional to join our high-performing team, in Saskatoon, and to help guide us toward continued success. As a Senior Financial Controller , coached by our existing CFO, you will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us analyze, strategize, and grow. You will impact our efforts to reduce the PO to cash cycle and improve our overall cash and working capital management. This position would be ideal for an experienced senior accountant, that has managed the finances for a $25M+ business unit, that is ready for the next level.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all cash management, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Help define and drive the company’s financial strategy, including growth, capital and control.
  • Create and implement annual budgets and expense plans, along with provide reporting and analysis of actual to budget.
  • Establish and enforce official policies and procedures, ensuring that all financial matters are conducted in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Design business resilience strategies to ensure the organization can adapt to change, weather economic tides and grow in a sustainable manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive business growth and profitability through effective financial management
  • Understand current accounting practices and trends and be able to coach business partners in financial matters.
  • Understand how to raise and preserve capital, when necessary, to empower business operations and growth.
  • As a member of senior management, provide clear and effective financial communication and be prepared to answer questions from stakeholder of any level.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • A Canadian CPA Designation is preferred
  • 10 years financial management experience
  • Some operational experience in a B2B environment, would be an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online financial software including payroll
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment
 
An additional requirement of this role is successfully completing a Criminal Record Check.
