Design Desk / Inside Sales Representative
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Design Desk / Inside Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) and Managed Service Provider (MSP) Professional Services delivery areas by ensuring that customer requirements are accurately and thoroughly researched. The Design Desk aspect of this role is ensuring all requirements are evaluated holistically and that all possible technical and/or services solutions are identified to ensure a complete solution is proposed to the client. The Inside Sales aspect of this role is working with our Distributors to find the best solutions and pricing to present as part of the proposed solution. This role involves close collaboration with various technical teams, deep technical knowledge, significant attention to detail and the ability to maintain strong vendor relationships to enhance our service delivery efficiency. This role will also be required to support our Education Division as/where needed.
Position Description
· Research and Planning: Conduct thorough research to identify the best technological solutions that align with client needs and business goals. Prepare well-structured proposals and that deliver on promises made based on outputs from vCIO client meetings.
· Proposal Management: Create detailed solution proposals outlining hardware (servers, computers, monitors, cables, other peripherals, etc.) and software (licensing, subscriptions, etc.) to meet the client’s stated requirement. Ensure accurate cost estimates for all aspects of the proposed solution.
· Ordering Process: Streamline the procurement process (quoting, processing orders, following up, ensuring delivery dates, confirming delivery, product returns, etc.) by serving as the central point of contact for purchasing technology and maintaining vendor relationships. This includes negotiating better prices, reducing overall costs, and ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies.
· Service Experience: Provide an exceptional client experience for internal and external clients.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the vCIO, Professional Services, Sales Executives and other technical teams to ensure that proposed solutions align with customer goals and business outcomes. Seek input from relevant teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness and feasibility of proposed solutions.
· Task Management: Efficiently manage proposal creation tasks by setting realistic timelines, scheduling dedicated blocks of time for focused work, and minimizing interruptions. Collaborate with the vCIO and Sales Executives to establish clear priorities and ensure proposals meet expectations.
· Vendor Relationships: Maintain and nurture strong relationships with key vendors to ensure stability and predictability in product pricing and delivery timelines. Leverage these relationships to gain valuable resources such as product training and marketing opportunities.
· Utilize Horizon’s ConnectWise and HubSpot systems to manage customer information, track sales activities, monitor in progress orders and generate reports.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, products, and services relevant to the education sector. This may include obtaining required various vendor certifications. NOTE: Horizon is an authorized Apple dealer and Apple certifications will be required.
· Assist in the preparation of sales presentations and proposals for potential clients.
· Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of Horizon.
· Other duties as required
Qualifications:
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal team members at all levels of the organization and external stakeholders (Clients, Vendors, Partners, etc.)
· Experience with HubSpot and ConnectWise is considered an asset
· Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Willing to ask questions and ask for help
