JOB OPEN - ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
P&C INSURANCE REQUIRED

We're looking in Central Florida for an experienced P&C Insurance Accountant who is qualified at the Assistant Controller level. A CPA is required; however, our hiring manager will consider someone who hasn't received certification as long as they are currently in the process heading to certification.
This role requires a "hit the ground running" level of experience in Statutory reporting and supervisory experienced is also required. The Assistant Controller will lead the day to day accounting responsibilities - DOI and NAIC reporting, yellow book filings, General Ledger maintenance, premium tax filings, monthly, quarterly and annual filings and other assignments as needed. Will report to the Controller and this role has a path for upward advancement. This role has a financial system conversion, testing, process development component. Will supervise 2. This role will also have special project assignments.
Our client prefers to hire locally within the greater Central Florida area P&C insurance accounting pool, but if the perfect candidate is looking to make a relocation to the area - we can discuss. Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Leading role in audit prep and coordination
2. Process improvement oversight
3. ERP system collaboration
4. Analysis of P&L statements
5. Oversight of the policy holder/billing system
6. Assist in budget preparation
7. Perform variance analysis
8. Process improvement and workflow initiatives
